Alcohol and Other Drugs

The aim of the Alcohol and Other Drugs program is to reduce the harm to individuals, their families and the community caused by alcohol and drug use.

C

Child Development

The Child Development Service provides speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychology services to children and their families.

Community Development

The Community Development worker aims to improve the health and wellbeing of diverse communities (particularly in relation to new emerging communities in Clarinda, Clayton South and Oakleigh South)

Community Nursing

Community Health Nurses aim to assist people in the local community to maximise their health potential and wellbeing through: health assessment, counselling, screening and health education.

Community Visitors

The Community Visitors Scheme is a federally funded initiative providing friendship and companionship to eligible residents of aged care homes.

Counselling

To provide General Counselling services for adults.

Day Programs (Adult Community Options)

Central Bayside Adult Community Options (CBACO) is a non-Government organisation funded by the Department of Human Services to provide day programs, for adults with a disability.

Day Programs (Social Support Groups)

To help maintain and enhance the physical, intellectual, psychological, social and emotional well-being of older people and younger people with disabilities, in order to support and encourage their continued independence and participation in the community.

Diabetes Education

The Diabetes Education team includes Nurses, Dietitians, Podiatrists, and Physiotherapists. We offer individuals with diabetes, their family friends or caregivers, an opportunity to learn about diabetes and its management.

Dietetics

The Dietitian’s role is to assist and motivate individuals to make lifestyle changes which will improve their health or manage any medical conditions through sensible eating, regular exercise and a positive outloook.

Endocrinology

The Endocrinologist's role is to assist individuals in restoring normal hormonal balance, with a specialist focus on diabetes and osteoporosis.

General Practice 

Our General Practice at Parkdale provides a high quality Bulk Billing medical service in a friendly, caring environment.We have experienced male and female doctors on staff who are committed to providing a professional and comprehensive general medical service to all clients.

Geriatrician

A Geriatrician is a doctor who focuses on health care of elderly people. Areas of treatment include cognitive function, dementia, falls and mobility, osteoporosis, pain management, continence and general medicine. This service requires a referral from a General Practitioner and is bulk billed.

Hand Therapy

Hand therapy is a specialised area of Occupational Therapy that combines knowledge of the structure of the upper limb with function and activity. Common conditions treated include fractures, sporting injuries, tendon Injuries and arthritis.

Health Promotion 

Health Promotion creates opportunities for individuals, communities and populations to understand what influences their health and wellbeing and what they can do to improve them.

Inner South Communication

The Inner South Communication Service aims to enhance the participation in our local community of people with complex communication needs. People with complex communication needs are people who cannot speak and people whose speech is difficult to understand.

My Aged Care (MAC)

My Aged Care was introduced in Victoria by the Commonwealth Government in August 2016. My Aged Care aims to make it easier for older people, their families and carers to access information on aged care, have their needs assessed and find the services they need.

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians with a disability, their families and carers. It is due to commence in the Bayside Peninsula area (which includes the City of Kingston and surrounds) from 1 April 2018.

O

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists work with adults experiencing difficulties maintaining or achieving independence in daily life activities. We aim to promote wellbeing and independence to enable adults to stay in their own home and to access their local community.

Oral Health

Our dental service is staffed by a team of dedicated Dentists, Dental Therapists, Dental Prosthetists, Dental Nurses and Receptionists.

P

Paediatrician

Consultant Paediatricians see any child 0-18 years where concern exists regarding development, learning or behaviour. This service requires a referral from a General Practitioner and is bulk billed.

Physiotherapy

The Physiotherapy service provides individual assessment and treatment, and/or group sessions. It is available to people of all ages.

Podiatry

This service addresses pathology related to the structure and function of the feet and lower limbs in people of any age.

Sexual Health Clinic

The clinic provides a Family Planning and Women’s Health Clinic that is available to all members of the community.

T

Telelink

Telelink® is funded by the Victorian Department of Human Services (DHS) through the Home and Community Care (HACC) program to assist people to overcome social and geographical isolation.
