Our Social Support Groups provide interest-based activities and outings for older people, including people with dementia, as well as people with an acquired brain injury or neurological disorder.

The weekly groups assist people to keep well and stay connected with other people. They also provide a respite for carers.

Group activities are designed to meet the individual needs and interests of clients and include:

  • General socialisation
  • Picnics and café lunches
  • Outings
  • Art & craft
  • Gardening
  • Cooking
  • Gentle exercise & water exercise
  • Walking
  • Music enjoyment
  • Dementia support and care

We also have groups for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds including Italian, Chinese, Turkish and Cook Islanders.


Groups operate on a weekly basis from Monday – Friday, all day groups operate from 9.30 am – 3pm, approximately.


Fees vary depending on the length of the group and what’s included. Transport is available for some groups.


People who are 65 years and over, on a pension or have a Carer, as well as younger people with a disability. A prospective client can make an enquiry themselves or by a family member or case manager on their behalf.
