Internal renovation works will soon be under way at our Parkdale site thanks to a funding grant from the State Government.

The $2.7 million renovation project will deliver new modern spaces for quality care, while improving access and safety for our clients and staff. It will also create flexible spaces that will be available to community members and groups to support a range of activities.

This investment will include new multi-use rooms and waiting areas, more Telehealth-enabled rooms to make sure more people can access the assistance they need, as well as a garden area for client therapy and wellbeing.

Works are scheduled to commence in July 2022 and are due to be completed in June 2023.

Due to the building works, some health appointments at Parkdale will be impacted for 6 – 12 months.

What does this mean for clients?

We will continue to provide services during this time. Clients booked for adult health services at Parkdale will receive an SMS to advise if their appointment has been relocated to a different site.

The alternate locations include:

  • CBCHS Clarinda – 58 Viney Street, Clarinda (next to Clarinda Library)
  • CBCHS Chelsea – 3/1 The Strand, Chelsea (next to Australia Post)
  • Balcombe Road, Mentone – 45-47 Balcombe Road, Mentone

Alternatively, clients may be offered a Telehealth appointment. If you are unable to attend at the alternate location or would like further information please contact 03 8587 0200.

Services for clients attending our Child Development Services, Dental Clinic and Disability Programs at Parkdale will not be impacted by the renovation works. We ask clients to please enter from the rear carpark & ramp via Carrier Ave.

What does this mean for neighbouring residents?

We will work to minimise and manage the inconvenience and impacts of contruction on our local neighbours and businesses.  As this is an internal renovation, works will mostly be undertaken inside the building, therefore we don’t expect construction noise to be excessive.

Where possible, vehicle activity will be directed to the on-site CBCHS carpark to help minimise street traffic and parking congestion. The time and duration of the works will follow standard construction industry hours seven days a week.

Any project enquiries can be directed to parkdalerenovationproject@cbchs.org.au

Thanks for your understanding and patience as we work to improve our Parkdale site!
