Purpose of the Position

CBCHS is seeking two flexible and dynamic Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) to join our experienced and friendly Allied Health Team.  AHAs play a key role in supporting our multi-disciplinary Allied Health teams to work collaboratively with clients, carers, and external agencies to assist clients in reaching their goals.

Both positions are Community Health based roles, with the opportunity to work in Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Physiotherapy and other allied health areas. Duties may include: group exercise programs, Podiatry Nail Clinics and individual therapy such as scooter and living skills training.

About the role

  • Permanent Full Time (1.0 EFT) and Permanent Part Time (0.6 EFT) roles available;
  • Flexibility to work across CBCHS sites in Parkdale, Chelsea and Clarinda;
  • Deliver evidence-based Allied Health interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working within a supervision and delegation framework;
  • Assist in the provision of group and individual therapy programs, enabling clients to achieve their goals;
  • Support Allied Health service delivery, including indirect care of clients; for example: wait-list monitoring, administrative duties and participation in service improvement activities;
  • Supervision and teaching of AHA students on placement.

Key Selection Criteria

About You

You will be a motivated, passionate and Certificate IV qualified Allied Health Assistant with previous experience working and engaging with a range of clients in a community health setting. You will have an adaptable and flexible approach to your work with an ability to effectively prioritise. Your strong communication skills and commitment to using a person-centred approach, will see you build meaningful relationships with our clients from a range of different cultures and backgrounds. Finally, your AHA experience delivering occupational therapy, podiatry and physiotherapy interventions (including the facilitation of group exercise programs), will see you hit the ground running and thrive in this position.
