Purpose of the Position

Do you enjoy being part of a small and supportive team and are interested in growing with our team? We are seeking expressions of interest from Occupational Therapists (OTs) looking to join us in supporting clients in our local community to be independent, engaged and active in their daily lives.   We are keen to hear from therapists who are person centred and goal driven in their practice.

Clinicians at our service currently work with aged clients and those under 65 years via HACC or Community Health Funding.  Experienced and new graduate OTs please contact us to discuss the opportunity to work with our team.  We would love to hear from you, about you and share our passion for our community with you.

We have 2 positions available:

  • Permanent role for Grade 1 or 2, Part Time (0.8 EFT)
  • Fixed Term role for Grade 2, 6 months (0.8 EFT)

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a caseload of clients in line with CBCHS and funding requirements
  • Work autonomously and safely within agreed scope of practice in the provision of comprehensive OT assessment and intervention within the community
  • Coordinate equipment prescription, in particular wheelchairs, scooters, pressure care items, personal care aids, seating and hoists for clients
  • Promote client’s active decision making in their care through person centred, holistic and goal directed care planning
  • Manage client case ratios effectively to ensure that caseloads are met (85% time allocated to clinical care)

Key Selection Criteria

As an AHPRA registered OT, you will have strong commitment to delivering high level customer service using a person-centred approach. You will be passionate about developing skills in community practice, including equipment prescription and home modifications to enhance safety and promote independence for our clients.   Additionally you will also be:

  • Degree level qualification in Occupational Therapy or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Eligibility for membership with OT Australia
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Registration with Victorian Aids & Equipment Program (Statewide Equipment Program -SWEP)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Possess a strong commitment to delivering high-level customer service using a person-centred approach
  • Are willing to embrace change, to be flexible, adaptable and enjoy new challenges
  • Committed to continuous improvement in professional practice, knowledge sharing and self-directed learning.
