Purpose of the Position

The position supports the Marketing & Communications Advisor to implement activities within the CBCHS Marketing and Communications Strategy and Strategic Plan. This encompasses a range of activities including developing content for various publications and online platforms such as the CBCHS website and intranet as well as social media channels.

CBCHS is also playing a key communications and engagement role in supporting our local community to access the COVID-19 vaccine and support health and wellbeing during the pandemic.  This role will also assist communications and engagement work in this space.

Key Responsibilities

Content Writing

  • Write engaging content for CBCHS publications and marketing materials including newsletter and blog articles, brochures, Annual Report, website, EDM etc to help engage and inform audiences about CBCHS services and projects.

Graphic Design

  • Design professional and engaging communications and marketing materials including newsletters, flyers, online banners / infographics, social media posts etc. using Canva and other Microsoft programs in line with the CBCHS brand and style guide.

Social Media

  • Write and upload news items and other content to the CBCHS website via WordPress CMS to help keep information current and enhance user experience.
  • Coordinate, create and upload content to CBCHS social media channels including written, video and visual content.
  • Develop content for the CBCHS SharePoint Intranet site including written, visual and video content to help enhance internal communication.

Photography and video content

  • Coordinate and capture photos and video content to support communications activities outlined above.

Event Management Support

  • Assist with the planning, coordination and running of CBCHS events and expos (include online and live events) to help market our services to target audience groups.

Other

  • Other duties as required to support general marketing activities and help improve the procedures and processes of the Marketing and Communications Unit.

  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality, in accordance with CBCHS policy;

Team Responsibilities

  • Represent CBCHS in a professional manner by liaising positively with colleagues other professionals and stakeholders, as required;
  • Attend and participate in internal and external team meetings and training, as required;
  • Work co-operatively and constructively within and with other teams.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, digital media or related field
  • High level writing skills, including the ability to write for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated experience or intermediate skills with Canva or other deign / desktop publishing
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including MS Office;
  • Experience in implementing or supporting social media strategies or campaigns
  • Experience working with content management systems (WordPress) and SharePoint intranet
  • Demonstrated experience in the production of online and audio-visual resources and photography including video editing applications
  • Demonstrated experience in communications, journalism, digital media or relevant field with health sector experience an advantage
  • A self-starter, self-motivated person who takes ownership and responsibility to deliver results individually and collaboratively as part of a team
