Purpose of the Position

We have an exciting vacancy in our Allied Health team for a Grade 2 Dietitian. This role works as part of a comprehensive Allied Health team to help clients achieve their health and wellbeing goals. Our dietitians maintain a focus on providing evidence-based dietetic advice and nutritional care, following a person-centred, holistic approach that promotes wellness and invites active participation from clients to set goals and make decisions about their care.

The position will primarily be based at Chelsea but may require travel to our other sites at Parkdale and Clarinda, depending on demand for service and organisational requirements.

 This is a Part Time (3 days per week) Fixed Term appointment to backfill Maternity Leave until September 2022.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of a high quality Dietetic service incorporating efficient and appropriate nutritional assessment, treatment and education for individuals or groups
  • Deliver effective and efficient dietetic services to the CBCHS target populations by maintaining a caseload of clients in line with CBCHS requirements
  • Work with clients, families and direct care workers on meaningful client identified goals from a health education, prevention, capacity building and enabling perspective, while adhering to current clinical and evidence-based practices
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and provide advice and secondary consultation in area of expertise
  • Provide information and support to clients for better management of their health needs via direct consultation and through health promotion strategies within the community
  • Maintain professional development through access to current literature, training, education programs and special interest groups.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor of Dietetics or recognised equivalent qualification plus membership with Dietetic Association of Australia (essential)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in Integrated Health, Allied Health and Primary Care, including experience working with Type 2 diabetes, overweight & gastrointestinal issues
  • Proven track record in working with people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds to achieve positive outcomes plus a strong ability to build strong peer and stakeholder relationships
  • Well-developed verbal & written communication skills with the ability to explain concepts in an accessible manner
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the proven ability to work collaboratively with the team to achieve work plans and goals
  • Strong demonstrated computer literacy skills in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and the use of various databases (eg: TRAK).
  • Current Victorian drivers licence.
