Purpose of the Position

The Paediatric Occupational Therapist works with other members of the Child and Family Services team to provide a multidisciplinary service to help children achieve meaningful participation in their everyday settings. The service supports families to identify and build on a child’s strengths, interests, and capabilities.  The role will provide assessment and treatment to pre-school, primary school aged children, and families through the provision of appropriate clinical interventions, group work and health promotion activities.

Key Responsibilities

Your Contribution Includes

  • Provide occupational therapy services to children in accordance with Central Bayside Community Health Services’ objective to provide programs and services, which are responsive and accountable to the community;
  • Demonstrate a high level of clinical skill across the age groups eligible for services;
  • Provide services that build on a child’s strengths and capabilities, and that are consistent with the family’s identified goals;
  • Foster best practice paediatric occupational therapy within the service, ensuring that the standard of care is maintained at the highest possible level;
  • Provide guidance and support for the other members of the Child and Family Services.

 

Key Selection Criteria

About You

Your skills and experience will include

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or recognised equivalent qualification;
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Demonstrated Paediatric OT experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of Occupational Therapy specific practices with children and their families.
