Aim
The program provides a Family Planning and Women’s Health Clinic that is available to all members of the community.
Service Description
The service is staffed by a team of female doctors and nurse practitioners who provide friendly and confidential consultations. The Clinic provides advice on the following issues-
- Contraceptive choices
- Pregnancy testing and pregnancy counselling
- Pap smears and health checks
- Breast checks and education regarding breast self-examination
- Pre pregnancy advice and information
- Sexual counselling- male and female
- Advice and treatment regarding menstrual problems and pre menstrual syndrome
- Advice, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases
- Blood tests for Rubella, Pregnancy, HIV, Hep B, C etc.
- Advice on menopause and Hormone Replacement Therapy
- Advice and referrals regarding infertility, sterilisation, gynaecological and obstetric care.
All consultations are bulk billed
Nurse Practitioners in Sexual & Reproductive Health are Registered Nurses with additional qualifications which enable them to provide information, screening and referral for individuals in the area of sexual and reproductive health.
