- To strengthen the capacity of parents, families and the community to enhance the mental and emotional health of children
- To reduce the incidence of depression among young people attending secondary schools in Kingston.
Physical Activity
The Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) physical activity health promotion plan will be a two year strategy. The plan has two parts-;
- Lead agency for the Kingston/Bayside PCP physical activity plan, with a focus on older adults.
- The Physical Activity Working Group established within CBCHS is developing a physical activity program focusing on young families.
Food and Nutrition
Healthy eating was selected as a focus for CBCHS Food and Nutrition Health Promotion Plan. Good nutrition contributes to both physical and mental health. The focus of the Food and Nutrition Plan will be on children and male adults.
Clarinda Community Development Project
The Clarinda Community Development Project identifies the Clarinda/Clayton South/ Oakleigh South areas as having a high proportion of people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The project will work with this community to improve access issues to services and develop relevant health promotion activities.
