






CBCHS Board of Management
CBCHS Incorporated is a legal entity and has legal and constitutional responsibilities under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 and Health Services Act 1988. The BoM has the responsibility to carry out the functions of the organisation.
Memebership of the Board
Board Members are elected or appointed, hold office and vacate office pursuant to the provision of the Health Services Act 1988 (as amended).
The number of BoM Members must be not less than seven or greater than nine, in accordance with the Health Services Act 1988 (as amended).
Four to five BoM members are elected by members of the Service, two to four BoM members are appointed by the Minister.
BoM Members are appointed for three years.
Functions of the Board
1. The BoM has the responsibility of ensuring that the Service’s Mission Statement and Objectives contained in the Constitution are achieved by:

a) Ensuring that the service conforms to the relevant legal requirements
b) The development of a corporate plan for the Service which includes areas such as development of service priorities, determining appropriate organisation policy and ensuring adequate financial resources are available through;
c) Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the corporate plan
2. The responsibility for the overall management of the Service lies with the BoM. In general the BoM does not deal with operational issues. The day-to-day running of the Service is the responsibility of the CEO, who is directly responsible to the BOM.
3. The BoM is responsible for the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer, who also acts as Secretary to the BoM and Public Officer for CBCHS.
